  • Differential diagnosis includes
    • syphilis (Treponema pallidum)
      • painless ulcer
    • herpes (HSV 1 and 2)
      • painful ulcer with systemic symptoms
    • lymphogranuloma venereum (Chlamydia trachomatis)
      • painful matted lymph nodes
Laboratory
  • Diagnose with PCR
Treatment
  • Azithromycin or ceftriaxone
